You’ll discover the ocean, the transit of boats heading for the Canal, and the flight of pelicans over the water.

The Panama Canal is one of the most impressive sights on a trip to Panama. This man-made waterway, some 80 kilometers long, links the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, saving ships precious time by avoiding the long detour through South America.

Jungle & packraft expedition on the ancient Camino de las Cruces trail.
After a briefing with your guide, you’ll set off on the 11 km hike along the Camino de Cruces, an ancient historic route across theIsthmus of Panama, which once linked the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean during the Spanish colonial era.
The walking conditions are tough, and much of it takes place in the riverbed.
After several hours, you arrive at the edge of the Rio Chagres.
Here, you inflate your packraft and set sail on the river that joins the Panama Canal. This is your chance to catch a glimpse of the ships in transit.

A two-day stay on Isla Cañas to observe sea turtles.
Thousands of sea turtles of three different species arrive at Isla Cañas every year to lay their eggs on this picturesque and beautiful island, 14 kilometers long and with 1,200 hectares of mangroves of different species. It is considered an important habitat for a diversity of bird and marine species. This phenomenon occurs mainly between July and December.
You’ll be greeted by a local guide who will accompany you throughout the experience.
At nightfall, you’ll set off on a guided walk along the shoreline to observe the turtles. Keep your eyes peeled – the beaches are very dark, with no light, as turtles are very sensitive.

Then it’s time to head back to Port Cañas on the mainland.
