Stroll through its cobbled streets lined with ancient churches, lively squares and restored buildings with colorful facades. Here you’ll find elegant cafés, artisan boutiques, art galleries and superb rooftops offering breathtaking views of the skyline and bay. Ideal for a coffee, to learn about the country’s history or simply to soak up the authentic atmosphere of the old town. Panama City is the only capital city on the continent to boast a genuine tropical forest.This 232-hectare protected park is the city’s green lung. It is also the first part of a biological corridor between the south and north of the isthmus, guaranteeing that animals can move from the Pacific to the Atlantic forests. The park is located just 15 minutes from downtown Panama City. In addition to seeing sloths, you’ll have the chance to observe many of the 250-plus species of birds, reptiles and amphibians.Visit the Panama Canal and Miraflores locks.The Panama Canal is one of the most impressive sites to discover on a trip to Panama. This man-made waterway, some 80 kilometers long, links the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, saving ships precious time by avoiding the long detour through South America.

A day dedicated to meeting the Emberas. In the morning, your driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the pier, where you’ll board a motorized pirogue bound for one of the community’s villages. On the other side of the river, you’ll be welcomed by the cacique (spiritual leader) and the village children. Throughout the day, you’ll discover their way of life and traditions, including the art of tattooing. You’ll also have the opportunity to bathe in a waterfall in the heart of the surrounding jungle, be introduced to their knowledge of medicinal plants and watch a performance of ancestral dances. Cycle along Amador, on the banks of the Panama Canal.The Calzada de Amador (or Amador Causeway) is an iconic Panama City promenade, linking the city to four islands – Naos, Perico, Culebra and Flamenco – via a palm-lined road offering spectacular views of the canal, the Bridge of the Americas and the city skyline.

Discover Isla Cebaco by boat.Morning departure by boat from Torio for Isla Cebaco, Panamá’s third-largest island. Home to around 650 inhabitants, most of them native fishermen, the island is known for its deserted white-sand beaches and rich biodiversity. It has several waterfalls, one of which falls directly into the Pacific Ocean. In addition to its rich land, its seabed is renowned for diving and snorkeling. In season, between Cebaco Island and neighboring Gobernadora Island, it’s possible to observe humpback whales. The program includes stops at various beaches and visits to waterfalls for relaxation, dolphin and whale watching in season and the impression of exploring an island that feels like the end of the world.Overnight in a hotel in Torio.
Discover the Torio region and its surroundings.The Costa del Atardecer is Panama’s emerging region, so named because it offers some of the country’s most beautiful sunsets. Still untouched by tourism, the region is developing at its own pace, and a number of activities are beginning to appear. The region’s beaches are famous for the turtles that come to lay their eggs in season. Biologists and associations take it in turns to preserve these endangered species as best they can. If you want to have the chance to observe them, you’ll have to be prepared to change your sleeping habits, as the turtles come to lay their eggs at night and the babies are released at sunrise. From Torio to Boca Chica, in the Gulf of Chiriqui, we continue along the Pacific coast towards the Gulf of Chiriqui, located in the west of the country, close to the border with Costa Rica. A true natural gem, this gulf is renowned for its sport fishing, and offers a peaceful atmosphere with little tourist infrastructure. Between the authentic coastal villages, the Ngabe-Bügle indigenous communities in the hinterland, and the breathtaking views of the archipelagos, the setting is nothing short of spectacular. The village of Boca Chica, although very small, exudes all the warm charm of the Pacific coastal villages. You explore Sirena, the beating heart of the parkYou leave early, in search of pumas, anteaters, spider monkeys and crocodiles in the rivers. On this day, you leave your rucksack behind and explore the various trails around Sirena, in the heart of the primary forest. Wake up to howler monkeys, have a quick breakfast… You begin the same crossing as on the outward journey: 20 km of jungle and beaches to exit at La Leona and reach Carate, then Puerto Jiménez. Nestled in the mountains of southern Costa Rica, this unique experience immerses you in a daily life deeply connected to nature, art and history.
accompanied by a local guide, you’ll discover the history and traditions of the Boruca people, renowned for their famous Fiesta de los Diablitos, colorful masks and intricately carved gourds (jicaras). Back in the village, you’ll visit the community museum, then attend a traditional weaving demonstration, before taking part in a mask-painting workshop, strong cultural emblems of the Boruca people. Transmission and women’s commitmentWhen you wake up, you’ll be served a local breakfast prepared by the women of the community. The atmosphere is simple, friendly and deeply rooted in Boruca daily life, and this morning is all about creation and sharing. You meet up with the craftswomen from the women’s association, who are working to preserve ancestral skills and promote the development of their community. Together, you complete the mask-painting workshop begun the day before, accompanied by their advice and kindly gaze. The experience ends at the end of the morning, with the feeling of having experienced much more than a simple visit: a sincere immersion in a living, resilient culture.

Discover the Nauyaca waterfallsDepart for a walk to the Cataratas de Nauyaca, one of the country’s most spectacular waterfalls. To reach the waterfalls you’ll have the opportunity to take a lovely walk through lush vegetation to a canyon some 80 metres wide, where you’ll arrive at the waterfalls, some of which are 45 metres high.
