Panama is a safe country, even its capital Panama City. Day or night, the country offers a level of safety that would make most countries in the region pale in comparison. Apart from a few obvious rules of conduct, you can go about your business, go out, come home late, take a stroll on your own, without ever having to turn around in the street.
The network of cabs and VTCs (including Uber) is highly developed, with waiting times of just a few minutes and fares that defy all competition. What’s more, Panamanians are naturally welcoming and caring, so you can always call on their legendary kindness when you need it.

Beyond the tax advantages (no taxation), Panama is proud to offer a host of financial benefits to its international retirees. 25% on airfare, restaurants and your electricity bill, 50% on cinema, 20% on medical expenses etc… the list goes on!

Air France, KLM, Iberia and many others operate daily flights to Europe, lasting between 10 and 11 hours. Local airline Copa Airlines (Star Alliance network) flies to 70 destinations in the Americas (North, Central, South) from its Panama City hub, and with a recent fleet. Copa has won the award for the safest airline on the continent for several years running, and the most punctual (rare in the region).

Internationally renowned, the medical infrastructure is, at the very least, of the same standard as in Europe. Waiting times for an appointment with a specialist are no more than 15 days, whereas in Europe it regularly takes 1 year to see a dermatologist… At Terra Panama, the majority of our team are French. Panama City is the vibrant heart of the country, where you’ll find every store you could possibly need in terms of clothing, equipment, shoes, furniture… And to fill the fridge, you can find almost anything… almost! (I, the Breton, have yet to get my hands on buckwheat flour, hence the « almost »).
